COLLASTAT
Bioactive collagen hemostat
- Faster and easier preparation
- Rapid and effective hemostasis
INDICATION
CollaStat is an absorbable hemostatic agent that is indicated in surgical procedures when control of bleeding by ligature or conventional procedures is ineffective or impractical, except in ophthalmic procedures. CollaStat is applicable in various bleeding site. [1 ~ 3]
SYNERGISTIC HEMOSTASIS ACTION OF COLLAGEN AND THROMBIN
● Collagen granules absorb blood and exudate into their porous structure and expand by 10~20%, leading to tamponade effect assisting hemostasis process.
● Collagen of CollaStat induces platelet adhesion and completes platelet activation with Von Willebrand Factor.
● Thrombin of CollaStat activates fibrinogen and turns it into fibrin.
10~20% expanded collagen after blood absorption
Synergistic Action of Collagen and Thrombin
CLINICAL STUDY – 1
Randomized clinical trial to evaluate hemostatic effect of collagen-based hemostat containing thrombin in spinal surgery [1]
: The hemostatic effect and safety of CollaStat has been proven in spinal surgery.
CLINICAL STUDY – 2
Randomized prospective clinical trial to evaluate hemostatic effect of collagen-based hemostat containing thrombin in thoracic surgery [2]
: The hemostatic effect and safety of CollaStat has been proven in cardiac surgery.
